Gold Diwali Gala
History of Gold Diwali
The Gold Diwali Gala (GDG) began as an immigrant community in need for building ties of acceptance over festive celebrations. America, as a melting point of immigrants, built its foundation by immigrant representation. Diwali, an Indian Festival of Lights, goes back 2,500 years. It’s a celebration of good over evil, darkness over light, and right over wrong. By lighting a row of lamps of hope called Diya, the GDG was founded to celebrate this festival over food, clothing, dances, music, and lots & lots of love forming a diverse community celebration since 2005

Today's Update
Humanity is strengthened when humans support, accept, and feel included. Gold Diwali Gala (GDG) is a diverse gala celebrating the Diwali festivities by uniting all communities into one. Founded in 2005 as a community need over an impromptu potluck, this inclusive 2,500 year old festival brings individuals/families/colleagues/friends to join in with happiness, grace, and excitement. The evening has a schedule for an organized set up.
In 2009 we introduced The Corporate Diwali Women Empowerment Felicitation in collaboration with the mayor's office given to 4 ladies for their outstanding work. These ladies are selected prior & offered this mayoral recognition during the Gold Diwali Gala. They prepare an acceptance speech while receiving this honor. In addition, a Diversity Speaker Series is created where impactful keynotes are invited for expressing their views on diversity & moderated by a person known in this field. We invite the light of diwali by lighting indoor flameless sparkles by all guests attending the gala. A hand selected Indian inspired food fare is created for the guests to consume. The DJ sets worldly diverse tunes of music for the guests to enjoy. It’s a great opportunity for guests to network in a diverse setting. Today The Gold Diwali Gala is celebrated in all 12/15 locations of The Corporate Diwali with new international global connections with New Delhi, Jaipur, London, & Australia
